CRAFTSMANSHIP
All of our products start life on the potter’s wheel. Emma hand-throws the original shapes, which gives each piece a tactile feel, before working closely with the factory in Stoke-On-Trent to create the moulds. Each piece is then tested meticulously before being slip cast in batches. We only use the finest quality bone china, using production methods which have been practiced for hundreds of years, right in the heart of the potteries. Whether it’s the mould making, casting, fettling, kiln loading, or decorating - each step of the making process truly enhances the definition of what it means to be ‘hand made’.
The decoration is all hand applied in-house at the Emma Alington studio. Then each piece is carefully packed up ready for its final destination, ready to be enjoyed for the generations to come.
We are enormously proud to support the heritage of the British Potteries industry, and help to preserve the techniques and processes that make Stoke-On-Trent so renowned and world-leading.
